Who’s hiring?
LG Professionals SA is the peak not-for-profit association representing professionals working across local government in South Australia. With a clear mission to develop and connect people, they play a pivotal role in building capability, fostering collaboration and strengthening the sector.

Working closely with councils across the state, LG Professionals SA delivers a suite of highly regarded leadership programs, short courses and network forums tailored specifically to the local government environment. Their work is grounded in strong relationships, sector insight and a commitment to building a future-ready workforce.

You’ll be joining a small, high-performing and values-driven team who take pride in delivering meaningful outcomes for their members - and just as importantly, enjoy working together along the way.

So, what’s the role?
Reporting to the Manager – Professional Development and Networks, this is a busy, varied role that sits right at the heart of LG Professionals SA network and event activity.

You’ll be the person helping to keep everything running smoothly - providing high-quality administrative and coordination support across a calendar of network meetings, forums and small events.

From preparing agendas and taking minutes, to coordinating logistics, managing registrations and supporting both online and in-person network events, you’ll play a key role in creating a seamless experience for members.

It’s a role that will keep you on your toes. You’ll be juggling competing priorities, working across multiple stakeholders and making sure no detail is missed - so being organised, proactive and calm under pressure will set you up for success.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating network meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up actions
  • Supporting the delivery of network events and forums, including logistics, registrations and communications
  • Liaising with speakers, venues and stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution
  • Managing online platforms (Teams/Zoom) to support virtual and hybrid events
  • Maintaining accurate databases, records and network communications
  • Responding to member enquiries and providing a high level of customer service
  • Working collaboratively with the broader team to deliver high-quality outcomes

What’s in it for you?
  • A varied and engaging role where no two days are the same
  • The opportunity to build connections across the local government sector
  • A supportive, close-knit team who genuinely enjoy working together
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Part-time hours (0.6 FTE)

What we’re looking for:
  • Strong administration and event coordination experience, ideally within training and professional development or similar environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail, particularly when preparing agendas, minutes and communications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with confidence using Teams and Zoom
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and willingness to pitch in where needed
  • Relevant qualifications will be well regarded
