Join South Australia’s leading specialist family law firm as a Legal Secretary and play a key role in supporting a high-performing team with the care, professionalism, and empathy that define the Resolve experience. This is a hands-on, high-impact support role that helps our legal team deliver life-changing outcomes for our clients. If you thrive on structure, precision, and people—and want to be part of something bigger—this could be the role for you.
Who's hiring?
We’re Resolve Divorce—South Australia’s leading specialist family law firm. Recognised nationally as one of Australia’s fastest-growing law firms—and named Australia’s Best Boutique Law Firm in 2023—we’re known not just for what we do, but how we do it. We’ve supported thousands of people through divorce with clarity and care—redefining what meaningful support looks like during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions. It’s the Resolve Way: advocating for personal transformation and positive divorce outcomes for families, not just legal wins. From our certified Divorce Coaches to our dedicated Client Services team, everything we do is designed to help clients feel seen, supported, and strong enough to move forward. Now, we’re looking for a capable Legal Secretary to join our team and help us keep delivering on that promise—with calm coordination, professional polish, and a proactive approach that makes all the difference.
So, what's the role?
This is a hands-on role that combines legal administration with client service and general office operations. Reporting to the Senior Paralegal, you’ll be the go-to person keeping things organised, on track, and unmistakably Resolve in tone and delivery. From managing inboxes and preparing briefs to mentoring junior admin staff and coordinating appointments, you’ll play a central role in making sure our legal team has what they need to deliver their best work. Whether it’s filing court documents, supporting a team member, or simply making sure no detail gets missed, you understand that every task is an opportunity to help someone feel seen, safe, and supported—at a time they need it most.
Here’s what a typical week might look like:
- Managing inboxes and correspondence for the legal team—including filing, flagging, and following up via LEAP
- Preparing, formatting, and finalising legal documents, briefs, and letters with precision and professionalism
- Coordinating court documents and schedules via the Commonwealth Courts portal
- Supporting lawyers with file management, calendar bookings, and preparation for client meetings and hearings
- Managing brief preparation and delivery for counsel—ensuring everything is in order and on time
- Providing support to junior legal administration assistants and mentoring in line with our values
- Stepping in for reception where needed—including greeting clients, setting up meeting rooms, and handling phone and payment enquiries
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office—from printing to post to preparing final client letters
- Keeping everything compliant, confidential, and consistent with the Resolve way of working.
You’re efficient, unflappable, and the kind of person who doesn’t just do admin—you elevate it. You care deeply about getting the details right, supporting others to do their best work, and creating seamless experiences that make people feel seen, supported, and confident in the process. Whether it’s preparing court documents or drafting client communications, you do it all with care, clarity, and quiet confidence.
What you bring (on paper):
- Proven experience in a legal secretary or legal admin role—ideally in family law or another high-integrity, client-facing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident across a range of admin tasks
- Experience using LEAP legal practice management software (this is a big plus!)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—you write with clarity and speak with warmth
- A strong eye for detail and accuracy, especially when preparing legal documents and correspondence.
- Calm, composed, and organised—you know how to keep things moving, even when it’s busy
- A natural team player who’s also comfortable taking initiative and owning your work
- Proactive and solution-focused—you spot what needs doing, and you’re already on it
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and deadlines, and always looking for ways to improve how things are done
- Happy to mentor and support junior admin staff, and proud to model the Resolve way of working.
- Conscientious, respectful, and kind—you take your work seriously, but not yourself
- Emotionally intelligent—you listen well, pick up on tone, and know how to show empathy
- Detail-oriented, but always aware of the bigger picture
- Flexible, helpful, and happy to go the extra mile when someone needs a hand
- The kind of person who makes every interaction feel considered, calm, and unmistakably Resolve.
- A values-led team that cares deeply about what they do (and each other)
- A supportive and kind workplace where your contributions are noticed and valued
- Meaningful work with purpose, supporting a law firm that does things differently
- A beautifully designed office and a professional, people-first culture
